How do I establish an internship or work-based learning experience with LAUSD Linked Learning?

The Linked Learning office works to match businesses with students based on "Pathways" of study aligned to Industry Sectors. Representatives of the business and the Linked Learning Office agree on the commitment of time and effort to meet the expected needs of both parties.

Prospective sponsors are encouraged to fill out the following form to begin the process of sponsoring an internship or providing an alternative work-based learning experience. After you submit the form, you will be contacted by a Linked Learning Work-Based Learning Coordinator (WBLC).

 

What are the state and federal laws that I would need to be aware of in working with students?

What is an example of a "pathway"?

The California Department of Education has identified 15 Industry Sectors such as Arts, Media, & Entertainment, Engineering & Design, Finance & Business, and Health Science & Medical Technology. Within these sectors, there are many pathways under which schools can create curricula and project-based lessons.
